This is hilarious!
I'm a convert from Southern Baptist, so everything Latin is foreign to me. This really helped me get the pronunciation right. Most people in my Parish pronounce "Agnus" like the female name "Agnes". The Liturgy is so powerful when spoken/chanted/sung in Latin. Lamb of God!

Hello Edward! I am working to construct an ablumb of the mass music my church uses, this is my favorite rendition of the Sanctus! Is there any chance you would be willing to send me the audio file?
Note that on Easter Sunday, the alleluia is not repeated at the end because the Sequence (Victimae paschali laudes) immediately follows.
Before I knew it I was kneeling and waiting for the Priest to continue. Alas, I am not at mass.
Why does it have to be in Latin?
Latin is the official language of the Church. It is an incredibly beautoful part of Sacred Tradition and it is the language used by almost every saint for 1800 years to pray and sing. For over 1000 years we Catholics have sung this melody of Mass XVIII, with it's text. Plus, Vatican II exhorts us to maintain and celebrate the use of this language. From Sacrosanctum Concilium: "The use of the Latin language is to be preserved in the Latin rites." (SC, 10) "Steps should be taken so that the faithful may also be able to say or to sing together in Latin those parts of the Ordinary of the Mass which pertain to them." (SC, 54)
This tune is one of the most popular Sanctus melodies in English too
1. Latin is the official language of the Latin Church 2. Latin imo is the most beautiful language that ever graced the face of the earth. 3. At bare minimum the Holy holy holy and lamb of God should be sung in Latin or alternate between Latin and English between advent/Lent and ordinary time. They aren’t hard to learn.

Wow haha. They sang this masterpiece like a Hollywood Christmas carol... this recording is so unforgivably awful and ridiculous, it boggles the mind it ever got made. Exactly the kind of garbage the historical revival / authentic early music movement reacted against. Countless other inspired recordings are widely available, i.e. Sistine Chapel Choir with Palombella on DGG, or any of the wonderful recordings by England's top cathedral choirs... Westminster, Christchurch, King's College...
